Introduction Overview This manual explains how to install the Compaq NC3131 Fast Ethernet Server Adapter and its optional upgrade modules. The modular capabilities of the NC3131 Server Adapter allow you to install or upgrade existing PCI servers with 10 or 100 Mb/s Ethernet networks now, while offering the ability to upgrade to 1 Gb/s fiber SX and LX, or Gigabit over copper. -

Removing the Adapter from a Server If the adapter is already installed in a Compaq ProLiant server, you must first remove it to install the upgrade module.
