Step-by-Step Figure 11: Addressing the 4500 Basic operations are: 1. 4500 is used to operate the HVAC system with the alarm panel is armed in the AWAY or MAXIMUM mode. Premises Thermostat should be set above (in heat mode) or below (in cool mode) the 4500 Set-back setting.
Setting the 4500 Thermostat: To enter and use the 4286 thermostat programming mode: 1. There must be at least one thermostat programmed into the system by way of the 4286 installer programming mode entry. 2. Obtain phone access from the phone module. Enter the 2-digit phone code. Enter the 4-digit system code if prompted.

Check the wiring of the 4286 on the ECP terminals of the panel. Make sure the harness is plugged into the proper plug on the 4286, and not the plug intended for the 4500, make sure it is plugged in with yellow towards the center of the board.
