The following tables are designed to help you to find the cause of a malfunction or
a fault and to resolve it.
Messages in the display
Problem
In the cooking zone dis-
play, the symbol will
flash alternately with
the selected power level
or .
The knob is not at 0; a
power level is set for
the cooking zone. The
cooking zone is not
heating up.
lights up or flashes al-
ternately with in the
cooking zone display.
After switching on a
cooking zone, appears
in the front left cooking
zone display and ap-
pears in the front right
cooking zone display
for a few seconds.

Possible cause and solution
No cookware is present on the cooking zone.
Unsuitable cookware is present on the cooking zone.
Suitable dishware has been removed from the cook-
ing zone.
Use suitable cookware (see "Cookware").
There was a power failure during operation.
The cooking zone has been turned on for more than
3 minutes without suitable cookware on it.
The maximum operating time for the cooking zone
has been exceeded.
Turn the knob to 0.
The cooking zone can be started up again.
The system lock is activated.
Deactivate the system lock (see "Safety features –
System lock").
